Children with Disabilities team

The Children with Disabilities team provides support and advice to children up to the age of 18 and their families.

A child is disabled under the Families Act 2014 if they:

  • are blind, deaf or dumb
  • suffer from any mental disorder
  • are substantially or permanently handicapped by illness, injury or congenital deformity

The team will assess the disabled child and work with the family to discover which services they may be eligible for and best suit the needs of the child.
