What is the Local Offer?
The Local offer supports parents and carers of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) and young people with SEND themselves. It also provides information for professionals / practitioners working with children and young people with SEND and their families.
This website is the place to find support and services for anyone with SEND and so much more.
We want you to have all of the information you need at your fingertips to help you find the right support. We can only do this with your help, so if you can’t find what you’re looking for please tell us and we’ll help to find the services that you need and add the information to this website.
Ask Ollie is co-produced by Warrington Borough Council with local young people with SEND, parents and carers of children with SEND and SEND practitioners who support these families.
If you’re a service provider and want to be part of the Local Offer, or if you’re a service user and you have an idea or suggestion on how we can improve the Local Offer website please let us know.
The first thing to do is register with the website and tell us which topics you’re interested in. If anything changes we’ll let you know. All we need are a few details on our registration page
Next sign up to the SEND register and apply for a FREE Max Discount Card (subject to T's and C's) for discounted admission to many local and national leisure attractions. Once you've registered we’ll keep you up to date about what’s available in your area and about any changes that may affect you or your child.
Like us on www.facebook.com/wbc.askollie to stay up to date with information about all local news, events and activities for children and young people with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND), their families and the professionals who support them.
You can search the directory for services that are of interest to you. This is a simple process, simply type in the name of the service you are looking for into the search bar immediately beneath the carousel at the top of the home page. If you do not know the name of the organisation or service you require, simply type in a more general term e.g. speech therapist then click your mouse on the 'go' button. Your results will be displayed on the screen. Once you have found something you are interested in, you can expand the details by clicking on the name of the organisation to bring up more information.
Read the information pages on Ask Ollie by navigating to a topic of interest to you. From the home page you can select an information page from the 'Services' button which has a drop down menu or from the picture icons beneath the carousel. Each information page is set up in the same way; there is a page of information about the topic followed by contact details for more information and useful documents and links beneath that.
We recognise and value being able to provide information in a format which is accessible to all regardless of ability and disability. Find out more here.
